August 28, Noon- 1 PM: Michael Sherman is the Pennsylvania USDA Beginning Farmer Coordinator and former Lycoming County Farm Services Agency County Executive. Michael will take questions on USDA programming, including  accessing funding and conservation programming. In addition to his role at USDA, Michael owns and operates Sherman Beef Cattle in Lycoming County, PA, where they raise Registered Polled Hereford and Black Hereford cattle. Michael has personal and professional experience in using USDA programming on his farm. Register by 5 pm August 26.

 September 18, Noon- 1 PM:  Dave Hartman, Pennsylvania Grazing Lands Coalition,  grew up on a general crops and livestock farm in central PA. He has a bachelor’s degree in animal production and master’s degree in forage agronomy from Penn State University. He began working for Penn State Extension in 1985 and retired in 2023 after a 38-year career before moving to his current position with PAGLC. Mr. Hartman is owner/operator of Watson Hartman LLC, a grass-based livestock operation with Octorara-influenced Angus cows Katahdin sheep.  Dave will take questions on forage quality, pasture management, and grazing concerns. Register by 5 pm Sept. 16. 

October 16 or 30 TBD, Noon- 1 PM: Russ Gibbs, PA Bureau of Forestry, will take questions on woodlot management, timber harvesting, and forestry concerns for farms. Details to follow.
